Sports Nut takes over distribution for Onza: Bicycle tires with a good dose of Swissness

18 January 2021 by Andrew Waldera

Product news: At the end of the 80s and the beginning of the 90s, every biker was familiar with Onza. The legendary "Porcupine" whitewall tire adorned many mountain bikes at the time, but then the brand disappeared from the scene. In 2006, the current owner, Michel Manz, decided to breathe new life into the traditional brand. Today Onza stands for Swiss performance and is available in over 30 countries around the world. Sports Nut GmbH is now responsible for sales in Germany, Austria and Benelux.

Onza Tires offers tires for the most diverse disciplines of cycling. Depending on the area of application, a wide variety of materials and profiles are used. The manufacturer combines functionality with modern design. The brand is just as creative when it comes to naming the products: all tire models bear the names of valleys, towns or animals that are native to Switzerland. For Sports Nut GmbH, based in Tübingen, the concept of high-quality tires with a good portion of Swissness fits perfectly with their existing sales portfolio. The sales department, which was founded in 2003 and has been part of the Swiss hostettler group since 2014, is now taking over the sale of bicycle tires and inner tubes from Onza Tires for Germany, Austria and Benelux. The brand's new products will soon be available to dealers from the Tübingen warehouse.
