Product news: It's been 10 years since the very first E-MTB was introduced. Back then, none other than the German manufacturer Haibike caused a stir with a real innovation, because never before had a manufacturer presented a real E-MTB with off-road genes. And this was just the beginning of a new era and an insane e-bike and e-MTB boom, as we know today. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Haibike E-MTBs, the manufacturer has of course also brought something along and would like to be celebrated with the new Haibike ALLMTN Special Edition.
The beginnings of the Haibike E-MTBs
With the Haibike eQ Xduro, the first all-terrain E-MTB will be presented at the Eurobike 2010. In particular, the twisted engine concept and the basic style are often copied afterwards. Because Haibike already used a special production method with the very first XDURO with the so-called gravity casting. This casting process allows complex components to be manufactured that are particularly stable and precise without weighing too much. Especially with the engine mount, great successes are achieved here. At that time, the original range consisted of four models: a fully, hardtail, cross and trekking bike.
We too have over the years many models from Haibike had in our test fields. For example, the 2020 model of the Haibike Xduro ALL MNT or Haibike XDURO Nduro10.0.

The anniversary model: Haibike ALLMTN E-MTB Special Edition
The heart of the new Haibike ALLMTN is certainly its powerful motor, which makes every climb child's play. Because the new Yamaha PW-X2 motor offers significantly improved motor support even at higher cadences. This not only ensures a more natural driving experience, but also brings with it improved torque in all support levels. In addition, the motor should offer significantly less pedaling resistance. The battery capacity is 600 Wh for long rides and lots of fun.

But it's not just the motor that makes uphill riding a real pleasure, the high-quality carbon frame of the new Haibike E-MTB is also said to offer the best uphill performance. To make you feel even more comfortable on the bike, the entire geometry has been completely revised, so you benefit from a steeper seat angle on climbs, which should ensure a more forward-leaning position in order to tackle even the steepest climbs.

The aim was to adjust the geometry so that you have a better driving experience in all areas. For example, the spring travel at the rear has been increased to 160 mm and the steering angle has been set to be flatter, which gives the driver more peace and self-confidence. According to the manufacturer, new, progressive kinematics should also protect against unpleasant bottoming out when things get tough.

Furthermore, the new Haibike E-MTB relies on a mix of wheel sizes, in which a 20 mm front wheel and a 27,5 rear wheel are used. This combination is intended to ensure the best precision, roll-over behavior and comfort, because the larger front wheel ensures that you can roll over obstacles without any problems and, thanks to the lower profile diameter, stay on track with precision. On the other hand, the 27,5-inch rear wheel provides optimal traction thanks to its larger volume. An additional effect is that you can shift your center of gravity backwards when going downhill steeply.
With the high-quality Sram AXS XX1 Eagle, the Special Edition of the Haibike E-MTB offers first-class wireless shifting performance. There are also high-quality HCX 1200 carbon wheels from DT Swiss and Shimano XTR brakes. It's no wonder that at 10.000 euros it's more for the bigger purse.
