Cycling: Dylan van Baarle and Annemiek van Vleuten won the one-day race Dwars door Vlaanderen. While the men's victory was a solo over 50 km, the women's sprint had to bring the decision.
Van Baarle with 50 km solo
The semi-classic Dwars door Vlaanderen took place for the 76th time this Wednesday. After the start in Roeselare, it was 184,1 kilometers to finish in Waregem. With an impressive performance - unfortunately not in front of spectators - Dylan van baarle (Ineos Grenadiers) celebrate. The Dutchman started his solo with 50 kilometers to go and was not caught again. On the Berg-ten-Houte climb, the 28-year-old attacked and, to the surprise of many, drove away all by himself. Only later did a chasing group form. But this could no longer curb the gap to Dylan van Baarle. Only Christophe Laporte (Cofidis) escaped from this escape group in front of the peloton and finished second. The podium completed by the won sprint Tim Merlier (Alpecin-Fenix).
