Cycling: Lennard Kämna made his first appearance of the season. He finished fourth on the first stage of the Tour of Catalonia. It was won by the Dane Andreas Kron.
Kron wins in front of Sanchez, 15 years his senior
The only 22 year old Andrew Kron (Lotto – Soudal) from Denmark has achieved his biggest success in professional cycling to date. At the start of the 100th Tour of Catalonia, he won the 178,4-kilometer section that started and finished in Calella. The Spaniard secured second place Luis Leon Sanchez (Astana – Premier Tech), who is a whopping 15 years older than today's stage winner.
Kämna with a good starting position
The podium completes Remy Rochas (Cofidis) from France. The three have 23 kilometers from the finish line with Lennard Kamna (Bora – hansgrohe) can pull away from the main field and keep them at a distance to the finish line. The other favorites only crossed the finish line 16 seconds later. Lennard Kämna has thus achieved a good starting position for his first appearance of the season.
