Cycling: The sixth stage of the Tour of Turkey goes to Jasper Philipsen. The Belgian was able to prevail in the mass sprint just ahead of André Greipel.
Greipel intercepted by Philipsen after all
Mass sprint in the Tour of Turkey - and the winner is not called this time Mark Cavendish (Deceuninck - Quick Step). The reinvigorated series winner from Great Britain has to be satisfied with fourth place today. Instead, finally Jasper Phillipsen (Alpecin – Fenix), who previously had to settle for second place several times. The one who suffered from his success was today André Greipel (Israel – Start Up Nation). The German was perfectly prepared for the mass sprint by his teammates and only lost to today's winner at the finish line. The 129,1-kilometer stage from Fethiye to Marmaris was dominated by a five-man breakaway group including the Austrian Sebastian Schoenberger (B&B Hotels p/b KTM). Due to the speed work in the peloton, however, the mass sprint was unavoidable. There were no changes in the overall rating.
