Black Forest MTB Cup 2021 First cancellations cause a gloomy mood

MTB News: After the difficult last year, the Black Forest MTB Cup 2021 will not start as planned either. After Hausach had to postpone the opening event of the cup and Urach also postponed the event to autumn, Freiburg and St. Märgen canceled completely. However, there is some hope that St. Märgen will possibly catch up on the event in autumn.

When Bernd Faller from Ski Club St. Märgen called cup organizer Simon Stiebjahn last week, Stiebjahn already suspected what the reason for the call could be. “Unfortunately, we have to cancel our race for now. If the conditions allow it, we can imagine organizing another race in the fall,” Faller is quoted as saying in the official announcement. On the same evening, Uwe Nedela from RIG Freiburg reported, also with no good news: RIG had therefore decided under the current and foreseeable general conditions to cancel the MTB race on July 03rd, 2021 without an alternative date later in the year. The Black Forest MTB Cup 2021 powered by Fahrrad Center Singer is currently starting the new season with eight races. Organizer Simon Stiebjahn remains optimistic despite the slightly gloomy mood, as the other organizers are still sticking to their dates. “Of course I would have wished that we could offer the children and young people the complete racing series, but you also have to understand the organizers and respect their decisions. Nevertheless, I am pleased that we are currently in a good position and have a few races in the program. I hope it stays that way,” says Stiebjahn.
