Spectrum: Schools have played an important role in road safety education for many years. Perhaps you too got your bicycle license in elementary school. However, many schools are doing a lot more for bicycles as a means of transport and for the safety of our children on the road. For this reason, the AKTIONfahrRAD decided to nominate "Germany's most bicycle-friendly school".
56 applicants, 31 favourites, 4 prizes
According to the jury of the AKTIONfahrRad are for the award Applications from 56 schools from all over Germany received. The schools had the opportunity to apply for the overall prize as well as for the special prizes “Mobility”, “Sport” and “Beginners”. At least all of the applicants made it 31 in the final selection.
Germany's most bicycle-friendly school comes from northern Bavaria
Among the 10 schools that had applied for the main prize, the State Realschule Hilpoltstein push through. Accordingly, the northern Bavarian school can adorn itself with the title "Germany's most bicycle-friendly school 2021".
The decisive factor for the award of the title was the wide-ranging concept with which the school wants to get its pupils enthusiastic about cycling. In addition to the numerous annually changing projects, this is Elective "mountain bike" probably the highlight. Who among us would not like to get good grades for biking?
Who clears the special prizes?
Several schools had also applied for the special prizes. In the Category "Sports" did that Johann Schöner High School (Karlstadt) the race. No wonder, after all, the school has been a certified "BIKE SCHOOL" for several years, providing its students with the school's own mountain bikes both in class and as part of study groups.
The Special price "Beginners" could the Ausonius elementary school from Trier to back up. The decisive factor was the broad commitment to cycling, starting with annual project days, safety courses for all children and the organization of "Critical mass for kids" events.
Competing for the last Special prize "Mobility" could the Community school at the Roter Berg (Erfurt) prevail against their four competitors. Important for the jury was, among other things, the integration of the subject of bicycles into the curriculum and participation in the competition "Fahr Rad - fürs Klima auf Tour".
