Stable and inexpensive for everyday use and touring: Dynamics E-Lite 8 K in the test

27 May 2021 by Caspar Gebel

Test / E-Bike: With a luggage rack fixed to the frame, elegant and unmistakable, the Dynamics E-Lite 8 K from Zweirad Stadler offers solid technology at a reasonable price. And its motorization can certainly be described as sporty.

Actually, you don't want to talk about the price of a bicycle (or e-bike) right away, but for some customers this aspect is in the foreground. For example, if you are looking for a bike for commuting in city traffic, you might not have to think too much about features and range, but you might be inclined to choose a more inexpensive "workhorse" - around 2.500 euros, equipped with solid technology and easy to use.

Dynamics E-Lite 8 K – short and sweet

  • Frame material: Aluminium
  • wheel size: 28 inch
  • Engine: Bosch Performance Line, 65 Nm
  • Battery pack: Bosch PowerPack, 500Wh
  • Display: Bosch Intuvia
  • Frame variants: Step-through, trapeze, men
  • Price: 2.698 Euros
  • Special features frame lock

Reasonable price – solid and valuable equipment

If you look around for something like this in one of the 21 Stadler branches, you should end up with the E-Lite 8K from the company's own brand Dynamics - an e-trekking bike that has pretty much everything you need for everyday trips and tours. The question of the motorization brings positive results: At a price of almost 2.700 euros, Dynamics supplies the Bosch Performance Line, a drive that has significantly more torque and is therefore livelier than the Active Line Plus that is usually installed in this price range. Add to that a 500-watt-hour battery, and both users (the bike is available in three frame shapes) receive a state-of-the-art all-round carefree package that leaves no questions unanswered.

The easy-to-read, clear Intuvia display makes it easier to use, and you can get to grips with the E-Lite straight away, especially since it is also very easy to use. This bike does not allow itself the visual luxury of an integrated battery; the battery can therefore be easily removed or charged on the bike. And the eight-speed derailleur shines with its ease of use: since you shift gears while pedaling, you can change gears very dynamically and even under load. Disc brakes are already de rigueur on the current e-trekking bike.

Practical – for everyday use and touring

The Dynamics is quite unique thanks to the frame-mounted luggage rack - welded to the rear triangle and therefore super stable. The small "handles" support panniers that are hung on the side, as they are often used in everyday life; the loading area can be used flexibly with a spring flap and locking mechanism for special baskets and bags. Of course, the rear people are attached to the carrier, as is the mudguard, which means that there are no additional struts.

Practical and functional - the welded luggage rack provides additional rigidity
A chain guard keeps the trouser legs clean
Always hydrated - thanks to the Fidlock bottle cage
Practical and not a matter of course: an integrated frame lock

The LED lighting system is powered by the Bosch battery - but it could be a bit brighter

This gives the bike a very clean look, and the practical frame lock on the rear triangle also blends in nicely. A suspension fork is of course part of it; The screwed handlebar grips with ergonomic shape and the magnetic bottle holder on the top tube are positive highlights - small extras that are particularly welcome in this price range. A very small drop of bitterness: It wasn't enough for a really bright front light - a pity, because that would make the Dynamics E-Lite 8K perfectly equipped for everyday use and touring.
