Cycling: Mark Padun is the discovery of this year's Critérium du Dauphiné. After the king's stage yesterday, the Ukrainian also won the final stage today. The overall victory of the tour goes to Richie Porte.

Mark Padun (Bahrain – Victorious) did it and after yesterday's queen stage he also won today's final stage. He was part of an 18-man breakaway group and immediately left all of his competitors on the final climb. The Ukrainian fought his way to the finish line and completed the 11,6-kilometer Col de Joux Plane even faster than the group of favourites. With that he celebrates his second day's win in a row and his team even three stage wins at this year's Critérium du Dauphiné. In addition, Mark Padun and his teammate can be happy about the victory in the mountains classification Sonny Colbrelli about the success in the points classification.



Porte celebrates overall victory ahead of Lutsenko

The tour also ended successfully for the British team Ineos Grenadiers. Richie porte couldn't take the yellow jersey today and was a teammate Geraint Thomas finished third overall. Between the two Ineos professionals alexey lutsenko (Astana – Premier Tech) who lost too much time on the crucial stage yesterday. The German team Bora – hansgrohe can also be satisfied. Patrick Conrad from Austria finished third today. He finishes the overall standings in 12th place. Teammate Wilco Kelderman in fourth place missed the podium in the general classification by just four seconds.
