MTB News / Spectrum: The easing Corona situation makes it possible: The double World Cup in Saalfelden Leogang can take place - in compliance with strict measures, of course. Even spectators are allowed thanks to elaborate prevention concepts. Spectator seats are limited and tickets for grandstand seats are available until June 09th.
As part of the Out of Bounds Festival from 11.-13. A double World Cup will be held for the first time in June. Due to the cancellation of the World Cup event in Fort William and the relocation of the race in Maribor, the Downhill World Cup in Saalfelden Leogang is the first World Cup race of the season for the pros - and thus also the first opportunity to score points for the overall World Cup collect. After the rather long off-season, the fight for the podium places should definitely be very exciting. In addition to the downhill races, the cross-country decisions will also take place for the first time this year as part of a Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Leogang. For the athletes, the race in Saalfelden Leogang is the penultimate stop before the games in Tokyo.
Thanks to extensive prevention concepts, even spectators can be there live on site. Spectator seats are limited and tickets for grandstand seats are available until June 09th at www.mtb-weltcup.at available. Cycling fans who cannot be there live at the double World Cup can follow the final races on RedBull TV and ORF. Two Austrians in particular should be the focus of on-site spectators. For the downhill specialist Vali Höll, the race in Leogang is a home game, so to speak, which doesn't really mean that it will be any easier for the young woman from Saalbach. During the training run of the World Championships last October, Vali fell badly. In cross-country, alongside Loana Lecomte and world champion Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, young Austrian Laura Stigger is one of the favourites.
