Product news / E-MTB: Some manufacturers are presenting the first e-bikes with the new drive right at the launch of the Bosch Smart System. We take a look at what we consider to be the most exciting E-MTBs, some of which we have already been able to examine live and in color.
Bulls Sonic EVO AM-I Carbon
[blog specific=“152858″]The top model of the Sonic EVO AM series from Bulls will also come in 2022 with a carbon main frame and an aluminum rear triangle. It offers 150 mm of travel at the front and rear and some really nice features: It's very easy to remove the battery from the side and the rear lights integrated into the seatstays even comply with the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations.
KTM Macina Prowler
[blog specific=“152830″]For us, the KTM Macina Prowler is one of the best eMTBs for technical climbs. This is unlikely to change in 2022 either, because despite the new frame, the key data of the carbon E-MTB will remain almost identical. With 180 or 170 mm of travel, you have plenty of reserves when things really get bumpy and the steep seat tube angle puts the rider in a very efficient, central position on the bike. The battery removal on the top of the down tube is nicely solved.
Corratec E-Power RS 160
[blog specific=“152824″]The E-Power RS from Corratec is not a newcomer, but has been given a completely revised aluminum frame thanks to the Bosch Smart System Upgrade. One is particularly proud of the integration of the battery with the "Shadow Edge 3.0" technology. According to Corratec, this should offer significantly more rigidity and simple, intuitive handling when removing the battery - new ventilation openings also guarantee permanently high performance of the Performance CX motor. Otherwise you get a balanced geometry and 160 mm travel front and rear.
Bull's Copperhead EVO 3
[blog specific=“153004″]The Bulls Copperhead EVO is one of the first hardtails that we encounter with the new Bosch Smart System. The top model Copperhead EVO 3 is very well equipped with 12-speed Shimano gears, powerful brakes and 120 mm air suspension fork, so that you can dare a trip on the trail despite the unsprung rear. Thanks to the not too sporty geometry and the MonkeyLink mounting points, you are also well prepared for everyday use.
Ghost E Riot AM
[blog specific=“153035″]
The E-Riot platform from Ghost, which was presented in the previous season, has been expanded with the AM and EN variants in the spring travel range of 160 mm and more. Most models are equipped with a main frame made of carbon, in whose bulky down tube the 750 Wh battery is safely stowed away. The E-Riot AM comes with 160 mm of travel, the EN version offers 170 mm at the front and therefore a little more reserves. The bike rolls on 29-inch wheels (except for size S, here 27,5 inches) and should particularly please those who are looking for a safe companion for high-speed rides in demanding terrain.
Haibike AllMtn CF
Haibike is expanding its AllMtn platform and will be offering models with a Bosch drive and a carbon frame for the first time in 2022. The striking look is retained, as is the ample spring travel of 160 mm at the front and rear. A new feature is the integration of the battery, which is now housed in a closed down tube and can be pulled out towards the bottom bracket. Also back is the Multi Rail System, with which accessories such as bags can be conveniently mounted on the down tube.
