The Bike Festival at Lake Garda is a classic. Normally the start of the new season, always around the first of May, was canceled twice. Due to… well, you know. Last weekend there was a festival in 2021 and we were there. Of course, many well-known and not so well-known brands made their way to the Lago. Including Specialized, Santa Cruz, Giant, Ktm, Haibike, Nox, Raymon and many others.
We were in beautiful northern Italy, more precisely in Trentino on Lake Garda and spent three days looking around at the Bike Festival in Riva. We missed it! not the obligatory traffic jam, not the rain showers... but somehow the event simply belongs in our calendar. In summary, you could say bikes, gossip and cappucino! Of course we also produced some content for you and also made appointments for upcoming stories. Come with us on a tour of the fair!
Of course, we looked at the products for the coming season. Michael has made videos for various bikes, including two new ones corratec bikes he has that E power 160 and TCM 100 closely examined in each case in a separate clip. Corratec has put a lot of thought into it and found good independent solutions. Both clips will be available here soon.
With novel by bucket ride we met to hear what his plans are for the coming season. There are exciting topics and we will report on his project. You can then do that at Gravity Magazine read.
The glasses from Blitz we've noticed more and more lately and we've thought about introducing the brand to you. Are you interested? Do you know the brand from Sweden? In addition to glasses, Bliz also offers helmets and protectors….
Muc Off has really spread in terms of bike care. Rightly so, because the things work great and come with that extra portion of style. We are particularly pleased about a recent innovation: the tried-and-tested cleaner is now available in powder form. The advantage is a much smaller packaging, only made of paper. Much less effort and much less environmental impact for transport. There is also an aluminum spray bottle that can be used again and again. And the recipe is said to be the same as usual, so the effect should be as usual. Excellent!
The Crank Brothers we met with Miriam and Rainer. The two gave us a glimpse of some upcoming news. We're not allowed to say anything yet, but we can say that a test sample is already on its way to us, and that with the part we might be on the verge of a small revolution in terms of the use of materials.
The class of light e-mountain bikes is constantly growing and Raymon is no slouch either. For the Raymon Airray there will also be a video presentation here.
With score a new player recently took the stage. It's rare that the "New Kid in Town" comes across as grown up. No wonder, because BMC is behind the new brand and they know what they are doing. We were pleased to see that you can personalize your bike directly when ordering. There are various prepared graphics and you can also design them yourself. We like that. By the way, that is Gravity Magazine the two Scor Bikes in a video coming soon.
And again there is something for the eyes. Alpina has really made a difference when it comes to glasses and we are from the current one Collection done. Xaver from Alpina showed us two new models: We will order the Alpina Hawkeye and the Alpina Rocket to try them out.
Just beautiful! The Santa Cruz Chameleon is, as the name suggests, a very versatile bike. The current new edition did without tech talk and showed some beautiful structures of the bike that were very different and suited their rider. The bike of BMXer and bar owner Sven Busse was exhibited in Riva. We like it!
The IXS and showed Marcela and Thorben the news. The growing collection for women is pleasing. After all, there are more and more women on bikes and that's a very, very good thing! It's also great that IXS often uses fabrics made from recycled materials. The hoodie in the picture is not only good for biking, but also for apre ride activities. We will present the collection in more detail soon.
The suntour we let Christoph show us the TRIAIR2. We should be able to see the damper on upcoming bikes in the near future. A second eye-catcher at the stand was the steel spring damper, which will be a little longer in coming. And attraction number three was definitely Tom Pidcock's Olympic-winning bike.
Patrick from SevenTwenty explained his helmet to us. Instead of a styrofoam-like foam, the MTB helmet Awake 1.0 uses a technology called HexaGo. Behind it is a honeycomb structure made of hard rubber. The helmet should not only exceed the current EN standards by twice as much, it should also not age nearly as much as helmets with a foam core do. That would be a real novelty and more sustainable, both financially and ecologically.
From lettuce there are new colors and new products. Among other things, we noticed a new shoe. It is particularly light and should find friends not only among trail riders but also among the relatively young but already large and still rapidly growing Gravel fraction.
Am Nox There was a lot to discover. The wheels have been significantly revised and are pleasing to the eye. Various spring deflections and versions with Brose as well as with Sachs motor will soon be available here and in the trail test Gravity.
The inventors of MoWi Bike App showed us their product. The speed and especially the visual experience are impressive. By the way, MoWi stands for Mountain Wizard and so it really is a bit of magic how the tracks and routes are structured in 3D. The app is currently available for the Val die Sole and Dolomiti Paganella regions, but the makers want to include more regions. We hope that works for us too.
We say goodbye with a few more impressions and look forward to our next visit to Riva!
