Cycling: Team Bulls flexed their muscles on day two of the Cape Epic. With their duos Urs Huber / Simon Schneller and Martin Frey / Simon Stiebjahn, they achieved a double victory on the second day.
Sarrou / Beers stay ahead of the Cape Epic
Four teams broke away from the rest of the field on day two of the 2021 Absa Cape Epic. The Swiss Urs Huber won the first stage together with his German partner Simon Schneller. The German duo Martin Frey and Simon Stiebjahn provided the Bulls double victory just 2,2 seconds behind. The German was third Andrew Seewald and the Czech Martin Stosek by the Canyon Northwave MTB team. Yesterday's prologue winners Jordan Sarrou from France and Matthew Beers from South Africa just missed out on their second win, 5,7 seconds behind the winning duo. However, they are still in the lead in the overall standings.
Platt/Lakata don't seem to be stopping
Behind the four top duos there is a relatively large gap of more than 3 minutes. You can also look forward to a big lead Karl Platt and Alban Lakata. The German and the Austrian are already several minutes ahead in the Masters class and seem unstoppable. For women, the Swiss confirmed Sina Free and the Austrian Laura Stigger their prologue win from yesterday by being the fastest women in the race today as well.
