Cycling: The women's four of the BDR seems to be unbeatable. After gold at the Olympics and the European Championships, Franziska Brauße, Lisa Brennauer, Mieke Kröger and Laura üßmilch also secured the title for German cycling at the World Championships in Roubaix.
Track World Cup: Women's foursome 2021 unbeatable
The triple for the German women's four is perfect! After the triumph at the Olympic Games in Tokyo and the European Championships in Grenchen, the German Cyclists' Association can now also look forward to the gold medal at the World Championships in Roubaix. Once again was the gold quartet - this time consisting of Franziska Brausse, Lisa Brennauer, Mieke Kröger and Laura Sweet Milk - not to be conquered. In the final, the four clearly beat the Italians (4:08,752) with a time of 4:13,690 minutes.
Lisa Brennauer:
"We weren't under any pressure today and came here with a new team. We've improved every run step by step since the European Championships and we've also fine-tuned our strategy a bit. It's nice that we were able to drive a time like this again. A dream. For me it will continue in 2022. I have to let everything sink in first.”
The Italians win the men's
The men were even more successful than the Italian women. Because with leader Filippo Gana the Italy four managed to make it to the top of the podium in the men's category. The last time this happened was in 1997. After their impressive Olympic victory, the Italians, dressed all in blue, went into the final against France as clear favorites - and should not disappoint. Unfortunately, the German men did not get past rank 7.
