Cycling: Lucinda Brand celebrates her third victory within eight days at the cyclocross world cup in Tabor. Lars van der Haar triumphed in the men's category.

Lucinda Brand wins exciting race

Within just eight days Lucinda Brand (Telenet – Baloise Lions) clinched their third win. At the World Cup in Tabor, the Dutchwoman extended her lead in the overall World Cup. But it was closer than many had expected. Many drivers stayed together for a long time. The reigning world champion had to defend herself against attacks from her opponents until the very end. But in the last few meters she was again unbeatable. Puck Pieterse (Alpecin – Fenix) and Anne Marie Worst (777) are three seconds behind in second and third place.

The daily result in Tabor:

1. Lucinda Brand (Telenet – Baloise Lions)
2. Puck Pieterse (Alpecin – Fenix) +0:03
3. Annemarie Worst (777) + 0:03

Overall standings after 6 of 16 runs:

1. Lucinda Brand (Telenet – Baloise Lions) 187 points
2. Denise Betsema (Pauwels Sauzen – Bingoal) 168 points
3. Puck Pieterse (Alpecin – Fenix) 142 points

Lars van der Haar defeats Eli Iserbyt

With a strong performance, the men succeeded Eli Iserbyt (Pauwels Sauzen – Bingoal) to expand his lead in the overall standings. The Belgian now leads with 51 points. But he couldn't win the day's victory in Tabor. Then Lars van der Haar (Telenet Baloise Lions) turned out to be the best crosser today. After winning the European Championship a week ago, he can finally celebrate again at a World Cup race after a long dry spell. Halfway through the race, the Dutchman went on the offensive himself and thus ensured a first selection. After an attack by Eli Iserbyt, he finally went one better and drove away from all opponents. Third place goes Quinten Hermans (Toman's CX). The German Marcel Meisen (Alpecin – Fenix) finished 14th and is now 15th overall.

The daily result in Tabor:

1. Lars van der Haar (Telenet Baloise Lions)
2. Eli Iserbyt (Pauwels Sauzen – Bingoal) + 0:11
3. Quinten Hermans (Tormans CX) +0:15

Overall standings after 6 of 16 runs:

1. Eli Iserbyt (Pauwels Sauzen – Bingoal) 205 points
2. Lars van der Haar (Telenet Baloise Lions) 154 points
3. Quinten Hermans (Tormans CX) 153 points
