Cycling: The World Cup in Dendermonde goes to Lucinda Brand and Wout van Aert.

Lucinda Brand with Victory of Patience

The women's World Cup race in Dendermonde goes to the favourite. But Lucinda Brand struggled for a long time. At the beginning she lost a few positions and had to invest a lot in the course of the first two laps to get back up front. As she took the lead of the race, she would not be dissuaded. Eventually, she crossed the finish line 4 and 36 seconds ahead of Clara Honsinger and Denise Betsema respectively.

Lucinda Brand:
“I got stuck behind other riders a few times. But of course that is part of it. I had to be patient and I also had the confidence that the best would end up at the front on this circuit.”
