E-mountain bike fullies high-end 2022: these are your favourites
Full-suspension mountain bikes have become the driving force for the entire bicycle market in just under ten years. More efficient motors, larger batteries, more stylish looks - all of this contributes to their enormous versatility. In the recent past two developments are evident; On the one hand, the weights are falling towards the 20 kg mark and, on the other hand, we are seeing ever bolder designs from manufacturers that deviate from traditional forms.
The top 3 of our readers' choice in the high-end area shows exactly that: At the top is the Sonic EVO EN SL Daytona from Bulls, which convinces with a lot of spring travel, a large 750 Wh battery and a powerful motor with a low weight, but also with the unique choice of components such as the Intend chassis stands out from the crowd. Speaking of standing out from the crowd: That is also the motto of the second-placed Scott Patron eRIDE: Here the damper is completely in the frame, and they have come up with some ideas for the integration of the new Smart System. With the Flyer Uproc X, there is also a new E-MTB with Panasonic GX Ultimate drive on the podium, whose enormous downhill potential we were able to convince ourselves of last year in the form of the Uproc6.
Wow! Even at first glance, the "Daytona" looks sexy, elegant and exclusive. The rare chassis components from Intend, the carbon wheels, the extremely strong TRP brakes... This is where bikers' hearts beat faster! However, the overall concept is even more impressive: Shimano EP8 motor, large 750 Wh battery, 29 inch wheels and 160/150 mm spring travel combine with a total weight of just over 21 kg. More is almost impossible!

Also on board: Scott's own Twinlock system.

E-mountain bike fullies middle class 2022: These are your favourites
The ubiquitous price increases over the past two years have not stopped at the bicycle market either; It is all the more important that there are still models among the full-suspension E-MTBs that come with convincing components, high-quality drives and sometimes even carbon frames in the range of around 5.000 euros. Just take our readers’ favorite, the Bulls Sonic EVO AM SL 1: A bike with a full Shimano EP8 motor with 85 Nm, 750 Wh battery, full carbon frame and a convincing, trail-ready component package and a total weight of just over 21 kg: for around 5.000 Such a bike would have been unthinkable a few years ago. The Cube Stereo Hybrid 120 SL in second place manages to reconcile the new Smart System from Bosch with high-quality components at an attractive price - just like the KTM Macina Kapoho, by the way.
The Sonic Evo AM-SL 1 impressively proves that e-mountain bikes with large batteries do not always have to be heavy. A Shimano EP140 motor with 8 Nm torque sits in the slim carbon frame with 85 mm spring travel. The 750 Wh battery can be removed at an angle and promises excellent ranges. 29 inch wheels, RockShox chassis, 4-piston brakes, 12-speed gears and a dropper post literally scream for riding fun. MonkeyLink is of course on board and makes attaching a lighting system child's play. The total weight is amazing: At just 21,5 kg, the Sonic Evo AM-SL is almost in light EMTB territory - despite 85 Nm and 750 Wh.

E-mountain bike hardtails 2022: These are your favourites
E-MTB hardtails are an exciting affair: They bridge the gap to off-road everyday bikes like hardly any other bike category, but still retain their sporty character - and often at an extremely attractive price. A venerable name in the bicycle industry lands in first place - the Copperhead from Bulls has long since found its way into the electrified sector and in the form of the EVO 1 XXL 3 the Cologne-based company is sending a universal bike with a Bosch Smart System, top components and a high permissible total weight into the race. The price/performance crown probably goes to the bike in second place: The Grand Canyon:ON from direct seller Canyon is perhaps the sportiest of the three winning e-hardtails of our choice and, in addition to the Shimano EP750 motor, also has a dropper post, 2022 mm travel and 8 inch wide tires with. A new name in the Specialized portfolio lands in third place: The Turbo Tero is the spiritual successor to the Tero hardtail with its own drive, and a versatile platform including EQ variant with fenders or frame with a low step-through.
The Bulls Copperhead models can undoubtedly be described as classics in the bike scene. Great equipment and an attractive price/performance ratio have made the (e)bikes popular with mountain bikers of all kinds for years. The Copperhead Evo 3 XXL is no exception: New Bosch Smart System with 750 Wh PowerTube, 120 mm spring travel, Shimano XT 12- fold drive and powerful brakes - a coherent overall concept. The maximum permissible total weight is also great: with up to 150 kg, the EMTB should appeal to a particularly large group of buyers.

A Fox 34 with 120 millimeters of travel works at the front, the 29er wheels have a generous 30 mm inner width and the tires on them are 2,6 inches wide. The two smallest frame sizes use 27,5 wheels. What Canyon came up with for their Grand Canyon:On 9 makes sense. Together with a Shimano 12-speed drive, the powerful Shimano EP8 mid-motor and the brakes from the same manufacturer, the bike is a safe bet. This is matched by the all-round geometry.

With the relatively new Turbo Tero, Specialized wanted to build an e-mountain bike hardtail that is also suitable for everyday use. The bike is also available as an "EQ" variant with mudguards, luggage rack and lighting. Specialized has developed its own display for the bike, its own control unit and its own Mission Control app, with e.g. a range specification. The very quiet motor is very pleasant and parents are happy about the child seat approval on the EQ models...SUV and hardtail!
