Test Specialized Body Geometry Dual-Gel Long Finger: Numbness and pain in the hands when biking are often caused by pressure on the ulnar nerve. To prevent things from getting that far, Specialized developed the Body Geometry Dual-Gel Long Finger Gloves. Equipped with a sophisticated padding, the glove should ensure that the rider is particularly comfortable to wear. Can the glove keep what it promises?
Structure, materials and processing
The Specialized Body Geometry Dual-Gel Long Finger Glove has strategically placed gel pads on the entire palm of the hand, which take the pressure off the ulnar nerve and thus relieve it. It is striking that Specialized has dimensioned the thickness of the Body Geometry Dual-Gel padding according to the requirements of the respective area. Interruptions in the padding also allow better adaptation to the hand. The palm itself is made of soft synthetic leather. There is a thumb patch with soft and absorbent Microwipe material for wiping sweat. Reflective elements ensure a little more safety on the road. Touchscreen-compatible fingertips allow the smartphone to be operated with gloves. The obligatory silicone prints on the fingers, on the other hand, have been omitted.
The Specialized Body Geometry Dual-Gel Long Finger glove put to the test
In view of the rather voluminous gel pads, we were a bit skeptical before the test. As it turned out later, completely wrong. The very neatly processed glove not only convinces with a great fit, but also with an amazingly good grip. Although the Body Geometry Dual-Gel padding reliably eliminates vibrations, the driving and steering feel is fully retained. So you can still react perfectly to the feedback from the bike. The hand is still pressure relieved, which in turn increases driving comfort. The structure of the back of the hand with breathable stretch material is also great. Wrinkling is completely alien to the glove. The final Velcro closure system, which allows for a very individual adjustment using Velcro, ensures a secure fit.
