You, dear Velomotion readers, decide in 17 categories on the most important bicycle and e-bike innovations for the 2022 season - probably the most honest vote that a manufacturer could wish for.
Even before we started nominating the bikes for the most popular (e)bikes of 2022, we had to define the categories. These result from the areas of application of the respective bikes - that's not always easy, especially with mountain bikes. In some categories we rely exclusively on e-bikes - such as city, compact or cargo bikes - in others we do not use the "E", such as racing bikes.
17 bike categories - that's a lot. In order not to make the choice too confusing, we as the editors had to make a pre-selection - a shortlist of ten bikes per category, from which you can choose your favorite. Yes, such a pre-selection always harbors potential for conflict and we would like to apologize in advance if your favorite bike is not included in the selection. There was also a lot of discussion in our editorial team and one or two hard compromises were made. We've done our best to remain neutral, evaluating what's new and interesting, and of course which brands are particularly important. The result is a varied and colorful list of a total of 170 bikes from 66 manufacturers.

However, the final decision is now entirely in your hands. You choose a winner in each category by majority vote and can show the industry what is particularly important to you and which are the most popular (e)bikes of 2022.
But don't worry: you don't have to vote in all 17 categories. Before participating, you can choose which areas you'd like to nominate your favorites in. Afterwards, you'll be asked to provide some optional information about yourself – this will help us get to know our readership and make Velomotion even better.
