News from the editorial team: For four weeks, around the turn of the year 2021/22, our readers were able to vote on the most exciting new bicycles and e-bikes for the 2022 season. More than 6.000 participants chose their favorites in 17 categories and ensured an exciting result. We in the editorial department could hardly wait to evaluate the votes in the 2022 readers' poll - also to see whether our forecasts came true and where our personal favorites would end up. We were partly confirmed - partly surprised!
In addition to winning a few favourites, several categories showed that our readers not only voted blindly based on their name and reputation, but also based their professional competence on - of course, the look also played a role. For us in the editorial department, but also for the manufacturers and the entire industry, the results are a barometer that should not be underestimated, which trends are popular with the masses - and which tend not to be.
Of course, the heavyweights of the industry were able to assert themselves in many categories this year. For example, the Bulls from Cologne can score a hat trick in the three E-MTB categories. There was also a double victory to report in the racing bike segment: in both the middle class and in the high-end segment, a bike from Storck won the race. Of course, there were also one or two surprises: Winora was able to win the first cargo bike win with his first ever cargo bike, the new FUB 2W.
