News: The Bavarian manufacturer Fazua has made a name for itself in recent years as a manufacturer of innovative and compact e-bike drives. The special thing about Fazua has always been its sporty orientation, the relatively low weight and the simple integration of the battery into the down tube. With Porsche AG, the well-known automobile manufacturer secured 20 percent of the company shares in FAZUA GmbH at the end of January and would like to contribute its know-how in the field of electric drives in the future and further promote Fazua.
After the car manufacturer Porsche secured 20 percent of the company shares in Fazua GmbH at the end of January, a complete takeover of the e-bike drive manufacturer could soon be imminent. Because there is an option to buy more shares that would allow Porsche to take over Fazua completely.
“Porsche's investment ensures that Fazua's positive corporate development is further accelerated. Together we will put even more pressure on the pedals to advance our vision of 'Better Rides'” - Fazua Management
The drive manufacturer Fazua is known for breaking new ground when it comes to developments and not simply accepting market conditions - design and performance always come first. The manufacturer and pioneer of lightweight, compact drive technologies was founded in 2013. More than 40 well-known bike brands trust in the technologies and drives from Fazua, which successfully established the new category of "light e-bikes" on the bicycle market. Today, the company from Ottobrunn near Munich employs more than 100 people. On closer inspection, the investment by Porsche AG only makes sense, because Porsche is also consistently driving its e-mobility strategy forward with this step. In 2019, the Taycan was launched as the brand's first all-electric sports car. Almost 40 percent of the Porsche vehicles delivered in Europe in 2021 were already electrified - i.e. plug-in hybrids or fully electric models. The sports car manufacturer now wants to bring this know-how into the attractive and fast-growing e-bike market and use it to a greater extent.
