Product News / E-Performance: The Estonian manufacturer Ampler Bikes is launching two new city bikes with a light electric drive for 2022. The chic urban bikes are a real eye-catcher with their simple design and are hardly noticed as e-bikes. With StVZO conformity, the two e-bikes weigh just over 16 kg.
The e-bike manufacturer, which incidentally started as a three-man team in the garage at home, would like to offer emission-free commuting for everyone. As a supplement to previous range two more urban bikes are coming onto the market: the Ampler model June – a relaxed, comfort-oriented e-bike for everyday use – as well as Ampler Axel, a nimble commuter e-bike to accompany an active lifestyle. The Ampler e-bikes are among the lightest in their category, because the new bikes only weigh 16,3 to 16,5 kg and are equipped with lighting, mudguards and a stand in accordance with the StVZO.
Ampler is also expanding its presence in Europe with the opening of new showrooms in Amsterdam and Zurich. The Estonian direct sales brand also already operates showrooms in Tallinn, Berlin and Cologne.

Ampler e-bikes: well thought-out features on the new city bikes
Both new Ampler e-bike models are equipped with low-maintenance Gates Single Speed belts. This means that it is easy to use and requires little maintenance. As well as June as well as most Axel are equipped with 27,5″ wheels and 50 mm wide puncture-proof tires that make driving safe and comfortable on almost any surface. The battery of the elegant city bikes is integrated in the down tube and can be removed for maintenance purposes - it only takes 2,5 hours to charge. In addition, Ampler E-Bikes has installed mudguards with integrated rear lights. These also have a brake light function. In addition, an extra bright headlight from Busch & Müller ensures optimal illumination of the path. Both urban bikes are optionally available with luggage racks and trailer adapters - so you can be flexible in the city. The rear hub motor was developed by Ampler E-Bikes themselves. In combination with the torque sensor, it dynamically increases the pedaling force and thus ensures a smooth and natural driving experience. The good thing: when the motor support is switched off, there is no noticeable resistance. In addition, the low weight of around 16 kg conveys the driving experience of a city bike without an electric drive.
The Ampler e-bikes now largely rely on internal cable routing. The power button has moved under the top tube. One of the highlights is definitely the integrated display, which shows driving statistics and battery life. It also offers an interface to control the motor support and the lighting. In addition, both the Ampler June as well as that Axel via an integrated GPS function that allows owners to locate their bikes at any time and access the system remotely. The city bikes from Ampler-E-Bikes can still be used without a smartphone. However, the self-developed app has undergone a major upgrade and offers statistics, more control options and security functions, such as locking the power button and thus the motor from unauthorized use.

As of this year, Ampler's e-bikes are given their color in the recently opened paint shop in Tallinn. This keeps the transport routes short and ensures our own quality control for a more durable powder coating. In general, Ampler E-Bikes works according to the philosophy of producing in-house in all areas if possible: All bikes are developed and assembled in Ampler's own factory in Estonia.
