Cycling: The third stage of the Tour Tirreno - Adriatico goes to Caleb Ewan. In the mass sprint, the Australian was able to prevail over Frenchman Arnaud Démare.
Ewan & Démare hit back
Yesterday the challengers triumphed confidently. Today the old hands fought back. After 170 kilometers from Murlo to Terni, the Australian took the lead in a bunch sprint Caleb ewan (Lotto – Soudal) in front of the French Arnaud Demare (Groupama – FDJ) through. The Dutchman completes the podium Olav Kooij (Jumbo – Visma), who already finished second in the stage yesterday. Yesterday's winner Tim Merlier (Alpecin – Fenix) was fifth. The two Germans Pascal Ackermann (UAE) and Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain – Victorious) finished the section directly behind. Still leads in the overall standings Filippo Gana (Ineos Grenadiers). A bumpy section ends tomorrow in Bellante, which should bring some movement to the overall standings for the first time.
