Cycling: Sergio Higuita didn't let the white and green jersey be taken away from him on the last day of the Tour of Catalonia. The Italian Andrea Bagioli won the seventh stage.

Higuita & Bora – hansgrohe defend the overall lead

He did it! Sergio Higuita (Bora – hansgrohe) defended the leader's jersey of the Tour of Catalonia together with his German team. There were numerous attacks on the last day of the tour, but none of them were successful. As the eighth stage, the Colombian rolled at the same time as the day's winner Andrea Bagioli (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl) across the finish line. The Italian won the sprint out of a group of around 20 in front of the Hungarian Attila Valter (Groupama – FDJ). Complete the overall podium Richard Carapaz (Ineos Grenadiers) and Joao almeida (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl). In addition to the overall victory, Sergio Higuita can also look forward to success in the mountains classification and the junior classification.

Andrea Bagioli wins the last stage of @VoltaCatalunya with a great sprint against Valter & Barcelo. Despite being strong, both Ayuso and Almeida didn't want to sacrifice themselves for each other so UAE got nothing. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Bath. #VoltaCatalunya101
