Cycling: Magnus Sheffield gave Ineos Grenadiers the next victory. The American won the Brabantse Pijl one-day race ahead of the two Frenchmen Benoit Cosnefroy and Warren Barguil.
Magnus Sheffield crowns strong Ineos performance
The Brabantse Pijl was held for the 62nd time today. The men had to cover 205,1 kilometers. After the start in Leuven, we went up and down almost without a breather to the finish line in Overijse. And the weather gods didn't mean well with the pros. In the rain and relatively cold temperatures, the Flemish classic was particularly good for crossers. With a tremendous performance, the men from Ineos Grenadiers took control of the race and dominated the exit. The only 19 year old Magnus Sheffield (Ineos Grenadiers) won as a soloist, 37 seconds ahead of the two Frenchmen Benoit Cosnefroy (Ag2r – Citröen) and Warren Barguil (Arkea – Samsic). His British teammates Ben Turner and last year's winner tom pidcock - both only 22 years old - occupy the places behind. Their presence in the chasing group made successful pursuit impossible.

Liane Lippert is third again
The Arrow of Brabant for women took place for only the seventh time. The race, however, was no less interesting than the men's. After 141,2 kilometers, starting in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw and ending in Overijse, it's time Demi Vollering (SD Worx) celebrate as the winner. The Dutchwoman impressively demonstrated that she is not only extremely fast, but that she can also shine as a soloist. 22 seconds after her, the Pole crossed Katarzyna Niewiadoma (Canyon/SRAM) the finish line. On her rear wheel she had Liana Lippert (DSM). The German knew how to convince again. Just a few days ago she also finished third in the Amstel Gold Race. Switzerland can also be happy. Marlene Reusser (SD Worx) confirmed the good team result with fourth place.
