Bunny hop

Bunny Hopp: This week we want to show you how you can easily and effectively learn the Bunny Hopp on the e-bike. Not only does it look super cool to do a bunny hop, it's also an essential mountain biking maneuver to stay in the flow. We'll show you how to do the perfect bunny hop in three steps can learn.

It is often annoying and time-consuming when there is a tree trunk at the beginning of a curve and you then have to get off because you have not yet mastered the bunny hop. Therefore, you should practice this maneuver in advance on a level and quiet path. The bunny hop is known from the mountain bike scene, but it works just as well with an e-bike - the effort required is slightly greater due to the higher weight. In this video you can see how you can learn the perfect bunny hop in three simple steps.

5. Riding technique video: Bunny Hopp with the e-bike

The bunny hop can be learned by anyone in three separate steps. It is important to practice regularly - the expert Stefan Hermann recommends doing the exercises twice a week for 20 minutes. The continuous training results in lasting success and the maneuver can be used safely even in difficult situations on the trail.

Three steps to success:

  1. Step: only lift the front wheel
  2. Step: only raise the rear wheel
  3. Step: perform both movements one after the other

Bunny Hop Movement Description:

  • Roll up in the basic position.
  • Through the leg and arm bend, go deep in the center.
  • Now bring your hips back/up when your arms are straight, the front wheel will be light.
  • Staying in the flow of movement, the legs that are not yet fully stretched continue to be stretched and the hips are pushed in the direction of the stem.
  • The rear wheel follows the crowd.
  • Hip is now centered again, which is ideal for landing.
