Mavic Speed City: Urban commuter helmet with added comfort

July 26, 2022 by Florian Nowak

Product news: With the new Mavic Speedcity, the French manufacturer is picking up on the current trend of commuter helmets with a fold-down visor and skilfully combining minimal weight with numerous features for everyday use at any time of the year.

As the name suggests, the Mavic Speedcity is primarily aimed at cyclists in urban areas. With its side panels pulled down far and the reflective details on the helmet strap and the adjustment system, you ensure optimal visibility and thus the necessary extra safety. The visor is not only decisive for the look of the helmet, but also protects against wind, sun and rain on the road. In addition, the foldable visor should be compatible with optical glasses.

Particular attention was also paid to comfort during development, because a helmet must meet individual needs, especially for everyday use. At 370 grams, the Mavic Speedcity is one of the lightest in the entire urban segment, so you should hardly feel it while driving. There are also 17 fine-meshed ventilation openings in the helmet shell for first-class air circulation. A supplied winter kit also ensures the necessary feel-good factor even in colder temperatures. The lightweight, breathable helmet pad is attached with Velcro straps and can be easily removed to either wash or replace with winter padding.

In order to always keep a clear view in hectic everyday life, the Mavic Speedcity helmet is equipped with a visor, which offers an extended field of vision with its light blue smoked glass effect and optimally protects the eyes from sun, wind, spraying dirt and rain. The setup should also be particularly pleasant for people who wear glasses.

The topic of protection is of course the most important thing when it comes to a helmet. The cushioning EPS foam is cast directly into the polycarbonate helmet shell and thus ensures optimal impact protection. This inmold construction offers maximum safety and at the same time a high-quality finish.

In order to cut a good figure with the Speedcity helmet in the city, it is available in 5 fashionable colors and three sizes. The helmet is priced at 169 euros RRP.
