Storck Fascenario 4 Pro Disc review: All-rounder with professional properties

July 9, 2022 by Florian Nowak

Test: The German manufacturer Storck already caused a stir at last year's Eurobike with some new models in the racing bike sector. In addition to the popular Aerfast, the new Fascenario 4 was also presented, which the manufacturer confidently calls the "fastest all-rounder with an attractive appearance". We tested the all-rounder in detail over a longer period of time.

With an aerodynamic facelift, the Storck Fascenario.4 Pro Disc was presented at the end of 2021 as an ultra-fast all-rounder. The bike should also have excellent racing properties. So the vision is clear, the proven Fascenario model should be made even faster, which is why the manufacturer decided to test it in the wind tunnel. In intensive sessions, a new fork was developed that makes the Fascenario.4 Pro Disc a whole lot faster. In order to offer high-quality performance on all levels, outstanding comfort and rigidity values should round off the properties of the new Storck Fascenario 4.

It also stands out visually Fascenario 4 stands out from the crowd because with a glittering blue and a unique transition into noble silver, the bike should remind of the blue marlin, one of the fastest fish in the world. The idea for this design has its origins in the family history of founder Markus Storck. He had lived in Kenya with his parents for a long time and thus spent a lot of time by the sea. The Fascenario.4 Pro is therefore not the first encounter with the fast blue marlin. But if you want to reach the 110 km/h top speed of the fish, you have to work really hard with the Fascenario 4.

Storck Fascenario 4 tested

Even if the Storck Fascenario 4 is advertised as an all-rounder, it does not want to make any compromises. Because in stark contrast to other all-rounders in the racing bike sector, the German manufacturer offers an extremely high-quality carbon racing bike, which with its sporty overall concept comes very close to the performance of professional racing bikes and is still aimed at ambitious newcomers who value style and set quality. But long-time racing bike fans should also be particularly pleased with the Pro version with Shimano Dura-Ace, which we also had on our test model.

At just 7,1 kilos, our test bike had first-class climbing properties, which should not only please ambitious riders, but also make it much easier for newcomers to get started in road cycling. Good stiffness values also give you great power transmission, which ensures that you get the necessary propulsion with every step.

Even if the Storck Fascenario 4 Pro relies on sporty properties, the geometry and the frame are designed in such a way that you don't have to do without the necessary comfort. The newly designed fork in particular has a very aerodynamic effect on the one hand, but is also convincing in combination with the seat post and offers a pleasant riding experience. When things get technical, the Storck Renner fascinates with its playful handling. Nevertheless, you should take it easy at first and familiarize yourself with the handling, because the all-rounder seems very playful. But after a short period of getting used to it, you can expect a lot of fun on descents and fast sections.

Thanks to the high-quality equipment, you also benefit from first-class rolling behavior thanks to the DT Swiss wheels and precise and quiet gear changes. Despite the low weight, you have to make slight compromises in terms of acceleration, since the Fascenario needs a little time to rev up.

Conclusion: Storck Fascenario 4 Pro Disc
