Ergon Highlights 2023: Pedals, saddles and grips with the best ergonomics

August 16, 2022 by Florian Nowak

Product news/Eurobike 2022: The German manufacturer Ergon has always been known for high-quality and ergonomically optimized components such as grips, saddles and much more. At this year's Eurobike in Frankfurt we were able to take a quick look at the Ergon Highlights 2023. With two new grips, a fitness saddle and an ergonomically optimized pedal, a wide range of new products is again available for the coming year.

Ergon Highlights 2023: New GP1 Evo and GS1 Evo grips

With the GP1 Evo and the GS1 Evo, Ergon has taken its popular grip models to a new level. The further development of the popular GP1 wing grip into the GP1 Evo is all about maximum hand comfort, optimal pressure distribution, best skin compatibility and of course first-class quality "made in Germany".

The legendary GP1 ergonomic wing grip has already provided millions of remedies for typical hand problems when cycling in recent years. The GP1 Evo / GP1 Evo BioKork is now the logical further development of this success story and is intended to provide a remedy for widespread hand problems while cycling.

Conventional grips often lead to unpleasant feelings of numbness in the fingers, pain and irritation in the palms and wrists. Even complaints and tension in the lower and upper arms, as well as the neck and shoulders can often be traced back to improper grips. However, these problems should not be underestimated, because permanent malpositions, such as bent wrists, can sometimes cause severe symptoms such as carpal tunnel syndrome.

To remedy this, you can now choose from two sizes and thus get a wing shape that is perfectly adapted to the hand for an almost complete form fit between hand and handle. Pointed high pressure is optimally distributed over the large area and the wrist is supported in a gentle and straight position. The sensitive ulnar nerve is spared, numb fingers and aching hands or carpal tunnel syndrome are a thing of the past. The high-quality aluminum external clamp integrated in the grip area ensures stepless, individual and ergonomically optimal adjustment of the wing angle. The grip is clamped to the handlebar so that it cannot twist with just one screw underneath.

The TÜV-certified, pollutant-free medical LongLife rubber compounds in the new GP1 Evo follow the highest quality standards, meet the German toy and food standard and are unique for bicycle grips. This is particularly important for touring cyclists, as their hands are often in direct skin contact without gloves for hours. Two adapted degrees of hardness also ensure the best cushioning comfort.

Ergon GS1 Evo grips

As a perfect addition to the GP1 Evo grips, the new GS1 Evo grips provide the optimal sporty addition and should provide comfortable driving pleasure through optimal pressure distribution and a perfect fit.

Cyclists in particular, who are more dynamic on the road, often have problems with their hands. Because on sportier bikes, a more inclined seating position is generally adopted, which increases the pressure on the hands and the strain in the shoulder and neck area. Conventional grips therefore often lead to unpleasant feelings of numbness in the fingers, as well as pain and irritation in the palms and wrists. To counteract these problems, Ergon has now developed the GS1 Evo. The new Ergon grip is practically the sporty further development of the legendary GP1.

The new PT pedals are the ideal addition to the Ergon Highlights 2023 and are not only packed with ergonomic improvements for demanding touring riders, but are also a visual eye-catcher. The shaping with inner stop ensures an intuitively improved foot alignment. The pressure distribution is optimal thanks to the two sizes, even with everyday shoes. Thanks to the griptape surface, you also get perfect driving and stability.
