Test Bergamont Grandurance Elite: The Grandurance has been a fixture in the Bergamont portfolio for several years. Under the title All-Road reloaded, the manufacturer from St. Pauli is promoting its completely revised model for gravel use. The main focus should be on the multifunctional carbon frame platform, which advertises with balanced geometry, ultimate tire freedom and countless mounting options. In addition, according to the manufacturer, a lot of attention was paid to the design. We tested the Bergamont Grandurance Elite with Shimano GRX.
The Bergamont Grandurance Elite wants to cause quite a stir with its unmistakable design and well-balanced riding characteristics. Actually a contradiction in terms, but the manufacturer knows how to deal with it. Even before the first test ride, the gold-painted bike with a colorful fork catches the eye without being too obtrusive, which is probably also due to the pleasantly curved tube shapes. A kind of subtle eye-catcher!

But not only visually, but also the technical data of the Grandurance seem promising. With a maximum tire clearance of up to 50 mm, the basic requirement for lots of fun and adventure is definitely given. This is further underlined by the endless attachment options, because this gives you the opportunity to take the right equipment with you for every type of tour without restricting yourself.

Gravel bike for all routes
But not only on paper, but also on the track, the Bergamont Grandurance Elite shows what is meant by the term all-road gravel bike and what it has to offer. Thanks to the complete update, the frame, which shines in matt gold, has a balanced endurance geometry for long day tours and bikepacking adventures. In addition, more ground clearance provides more room to maneuver off-road and an optimized steering angle for more control.

However, since it is known that the inner values are important, the Grandurance Elite has also been given a lot in this regard. With multifunctional HSC carbon for frame and fork, not only the weight is improved, but also the driving comfort is favored. Here you benefit, especially on more technical descents, from the retractable seat post and the low-slung rear end, which, in combination with plenty of tire clearance, get a lot out of the rather restrained bike. Because the basic character of the Bergamont Graveler is mostly relaxed and straightforward, which is not only noticeable in the technical sections, but also through a somewhat sluggish acceleration. On the other hand, the whole thing is more than made up for by speed consistency and smooth running.
Attention bikepacking fans!

Attention bikepacking friends, because as so often Bergamont remains true to itself and wants to offer a high degree of flexibility for everyday life and leisure time. For this very reason, there are a number of mounting options for carriers, bags and holders. In combination with a high-quality Shimano GRX 1-speed groupset and Syncros wheels and components, you don't have to make any compromises and you get a gravel bike with a great price-performance ratio that is suitable for a variety of uses.
