Construction story, detailed test and raffle: Thok MIG Dream Kit

15 November 2022 by Daniel Greil

The Thok MIG is a great e-mountain bike with independent and well thought-out solutions. The sporty bike is even available as a frame kit, so you can equip the chassis with the Shimano EP8 mid-motor according to your own taste with the parts that suit your own riding style.... We have decided on a very functional structure, present the bike down to the smallest detail and best of all: you can even win it!

The Thok Mig paved the way for the Thok brand and is still a top current bike. Thok exclusively provided us with a frame kit, the version with Öhlins suspension! Company founder Stefano Migliorini went deep into the details with us, of course he wanted his bike to be built really coherently. He rode in the Downhill World Cup and was BMX World Champion, so he has demands on the equipment! Shimano, or rather the German Shimano importer and contact person Paul Lange from Stuttgart, let us dive deep into their product range in order to select the parts from their huge range with which we could turn the Thok MIG into our dream build.

We don't want to reveal everything right away, but we'll show you a few of the installed components. A complete and detailed story of the structure, what we thought about it and what we learned from it will be here on Velomotion in the next few days. Maybe this will help someone who wants to change something on their bike or who is wondering why product management did something on a bike like this. And of course there is also a detailed test of the Dream Build MIG! We not only put the components through their paces, we will also report whether our assessments of the individual components have really resulted in a harmonious whole. Let's take a look for ourselves!
