Cycling: Uno-X has been the main sponsor of this Norwegian-Danish team since 2017. You have signed until 2027. So the cooperation is long-term - and successful, even if the first setback has to be accepted due to the missed promotion to the WorldTour.
The WorldTour license in three years is the goal
With only nine season victories, the Uno-X team, despite a decent season overall, is certainly among the disappointments. In previous years, they had announced their intention to develop step by step and apply for a WorldTour license. Now they must wait another three years for an invitation to the highest level of cycling. The result, and also the trigger for the mixed season, was the lack of wildcards for the major races. Søren Wærenskjold 's U23 time trial title can probably be considered their biggest success. But Anthon Charmig 's stage win at the Tour of Oman was also more than just a respectable achievement. Tobias Halland Johannessen finished seventh overall at the Volta ao Catalunya, tenth at the Critérium du Dauphiné, and fourth at the Tour of Norway. The 23-year-old Norwegian is arguably one of the most talented riders on his team.
In Team Uno-X there are only Norwegians and Danes
Team Uno-X had originally aimed to qualify for the WorldTour license this year. However, with a 23rd place ranking in the UCI standings, they fell short. Now, they plan to take the next step in three years. To achieve this, they need to deliver strong performances in the 2023 season. Therefore, the team management has made a concerted effort to sign Norway's biggest star: Alexander Kristoff. The Norwegian has transferred from Intermarché – Wanty – Gobert Matériaux to Team Uno-X. Even though the 35-year-old is past his prime, he can certainly contribute to the team with his stamina and experience. Furthermore, the signings of Louis Bendixen, Stian Fredheim, Marcus Sander Hansen , and Magnus Kulset make it clear that the team will remain true to its philosophy next season. In 2023, Uno-X will again field only Norwegian and Danish riders.
