Scott LUMEN eRIDE: New light e-bike with only 15,5 kg

1 December 2022 by Florian Strigel

New Scott Lumen Light e-bike 2023

Product News | E-MTB: 15,5 kg for an e-bike? Introducing the new Scott Lumen: a light E-MTB for trail and cross-country use. Equipped with the new TQ HPR50 engine, it delivers a lot of power with little weight. Here you can find all information about the new Scott Lumen 2023.

Properties and equipment of the Scott LUMEN eRIDE

Even for a light E-MTB, a weight of 15,5 kg is a declaration of war. Scott makes this possible through the clever construction of the carbon frame and the use of the new TQ HPR50 motor. The frame shape - which you already know from Scott Sparks knows – has been adapted to the engine. The internal damper has slipped further upwards. Accordingly, there was space for the motor and battery. The frame even got more spring travel and now has 130 mm. Another advantage of the system is the neutrality of the drive - you are spared the annoying bobbing when pedaling. And: The Lumen also looks like a biobike. Frame volume is up just 17% over the Spark. All characteristics that promise a lot of fun on tour!

The top model - Scott LUMEN eRIDE 900 SL - comes with a noble Fox Factory chassis (130 mm) and exquisite Crabon components such as the in-house Syncros wheels and the tidy cockpit unit. As with the Scott Spark, the cables are routed internally and run through the stem unit. The gears are changed with the electronic XX1 Eagle ASX circuit. It is stopped with snappy Shimano XTR four-piston brakes.

Scott Lumen: The drive of the light e-bike

With the new TQ HPR50 Scott built a lightweight powerhouse into the lumen. The motor weighs just 1,8 kg – and still has 50 NM of torque. In addition to its low weight, the motor has another major advantage: it is almost silent. The TQ HRP50 is powered by a TQ battery with 360 Wh. If that is not enough, you can purchase a corresponding additional battery or range extender with 160 Wh. Scott gives a range of about 60 km. Here, too, the developers from Scott have given some thought: either two drinking bottles could be installed on the LUMEN eRIDE, or one bottle and an additional battery. Incidentally, the display is neatly and unobtrusively integrated into the top tube. The very compact control unit is just as unobtrusive.
