Press release: Absa Cape Epic 2023: The international mountain bike season 2023 starts on March 19th with the 8-day race through the vineyards of South Africa. The world's best athletes fight in teams of two over a total of 658 kilometers and 15.775 meters in altitude for overall victory. Team BULLS is again at the start this year with two Elite Teams and one Masters Team.
At the Cape Epic, Team BULLS is one of the most successful teams in the world with five overall victories in the Elite class and one victory in the Masters class. In the meantime, however, the BULLS Media Team has also become an institution when it comes to reporting on the stage race. With their BULLS E-Stream EVO AM6 e-mountain bikes and state-of-the-art camera technology, they deliver exciting and exclusive pictures directly and live from the race. We briefly introduce the three participating BULLS teams.
Team BULLS Heroes
Urs Huber, multiple Swiss marathon champion and Cape Epic winner of 2016, will start together with Simon Schneller. Last year, the two were able to achieve a good fifth place and want to win overall this year.
Team BULLS Mavericks
In the second BULLS team, the experienced Alban Lakata starts with the French newcomer Axel Roudil-Cortinat. Together they want to reach the podium as Team BULLS Mavericks.
Cape Epic Masters Class: Legends of BULLS and Mondraker
BULLS old master Karl Platt would like to defend his title in the master class from last year with Toni Misser. In addition, the two support the charity organization with their start "ILoveBoobies"to enable breast cancer screening in South Africa.
