April 19, 2023 by Michael Behringer

Kämna Tour of the Alps

Cycling: The German team Bora – hansgrohe fought back at the Tour of the Alps. With Lennard Kämna and Aleksandr Vlasov, the team from Raubling achieved a double victory on the third stage. Tao Geoghegan Hart remains in first place overall.

This tactic worked perfectly. Bora-hansgrohe secured a one-two finish on the third stage of the Tour of the Alps, a 163-kilometer ride from Ritten to Bretonico San Valentino. Lennard Kämna (Bora-hansgrohe) broke away from the leading group early on the final climb. Alexander Cepeda (EF Education-EasyPost) later caught up with him. The German then let the Ecuadorian do the work, only to drop him just before the finish. Behind them, teammate Aleksandr Vlasov (Bora-hansgrohe) was the fastest of the favorites. The Russian even overtook the valiant Cepeda four seconds later, securing the one-two finish for Bora-hansgrohe. In the overall standings, the two Bora riders move further up the field. However, Tao Geoghegan Hart (Ineos Grenadiers) remains in the lead, having crossed the finish line in fourth place, also four seconds behind the winner.
