Cycling: Gregor Mühlberger won the fourth stage of the Tour of the Alps. The Austrian was represented with three teammates in the breakaway group of the day and was able to prevail against two opponents in the sprint in Predazzo.
Mühlberger keeps his nerve
The fourth stage of the Tour of the Alps was a section for the escapees. After 152,9 kilometers starting in Rovereto and finishing in Predazzo Gregor Muehlberger (Movistar) ahead. In the triple sprint he was able to hold his own against the Norwegian Torstein Traeen (Uno-X) and the Italian Giulio Pellizzari (Green Project – Bardiani CSF – Faizanè). He celebrates his first win of the season. Pellizzari was able to break away from all of his companions on the last climb, but lost his lead of around 20 seconds again on the descent. As a trio, they drove to the finish line together – with the best ending for Mühlberger. There were no major changes in the overall standings, as leader Tao Geoghegan Hart (Ineos Grenadiers) was not attacked.
