With his second victory of the day at this year's Critérium du Dauphiné Christophe Laporte (Jumbo – Visma) were able to extend their lead in the general classification. The Frenchman was faster than in the bunch sprint Sam Bennett (Bora – hansgrohe) from Ireland and Dylan Groenewegen (Jayco – AlUla) from Australia. He is already celebrating his second stage win in the preparatory tour for the Tour de France, which begins on July 1st. Before that, there were numerous falls on the actually uneventful section.
