short test: New Jack Wolfskin bikepacking collection

June 14, 2023 by Florian Strigel

Jack Wolfskin bikepacking collection

Short test: Jack Wolfskin has expanded its in-house bikepacking collection for small and large adventures. We show the most interesting products in a short test.

The micro-adventure, the overnighter or the Europe trip: bikepacking is becoming more and more popular. Escape everyday life, reduce yourself to the essentials - these are the things that make the small and big adventures so interesting. It doesn't matter whether you're on a mountain bike, gravel bike or trekking bike. The better the equipment works, the more you can enjoy the trip. This is where Jack Wolfskin comes in with interesting products. In addition to the men's collection that we have tried out here, all of the clothing is of course also available for women! By the way: Many parts of the bikepacking collection are bluesign-certified and made from recycled material.

Jack Wolfskin bikepacking bags in a short test

Morobbia Bar Roll

The handlebar bag works according to a simple principle: either use the included waterproof pack sack. Or simply attach the sleeping bag, tent or sleeping pad to the robust roll top. Incidentally, the latter works with the Fidlock system. The magnetic lock is simply attached; the system is tensioned by turning the clasp and reliably keeps the contents in place, even on trails. The rain jacket, for example, can be quickly stowed away in the tightening system with rubber straps on the top. Jack Wolfskin also supplies spacers so that the Morobbia Bar Roll can be fitted to any handlebar. The sturdy straps reliably hold the bag in place.

  • Volume: 15 L
  • Weight: 570 g
  • Fabrics made from recycled material
  • Fidlock closure
  • Waterproof
  • Spacers for different types of handlebars
  • PFC free, bluesign product
  • Price: € 129,95

Morobbia Seat Bag

The waterproof bikepacking seat bag also works on a similar principle: the included pack sack offers 14 liters of packing volume. Alternatively, a sleeping bag or something similar can also be accommodated here. The magnetic Fidlock system securely fastens the contents - however, with round objects, care must be taken to ensure that the tension cords are correctly seated. The seat bag also serves as a splash guard. Thanks to a quick-release system on the saddle and a stable Velcro fastener on the seat post, the bag can be quickly adjusted and attached. the saddlebag also has a small clamping system with rubber straps. Similar to the bar roll, you can attach a piece of clothing here, for example.

  • Volume: 14 L
  • Weight: 390 g
  • Fabrics made from recycled material
  • Fidlock closure
  • Waterproof
  • Price: € 119,95

Morobbia Tube Bag

The slim top-frame bag always keeps the small, necessary things to hand: be it the spare inner tube, the multi-tool or the energy bars. The waterproof bag sits firmly and securely on the frame thanks to robust Velcro straps - also thanks to the reinforced bottom and back. On top of that you will find a waterproof zipper and ripstop fabric.

  • Volume: 0,7 L
  • Weight: 90 g
