July 7, 2023 by Michael Faiss

Product news / E-Bike: Three new drive systems dominate the portfolio of the new Bulls E-Bikes 2024. In addition to numerous models with Pinion MGU, there is also a light E-MTB with Bosch SX motor and many models with the light Bafang R600 hub motor, from urban to children's bikes.

Bulls E-Bikes 2024: Vuca Evo with Pinion MGU

Bulls is one of only nine manufacturers who have e-bikes with the new Pinion MGU in their range for the coming model year. All of these bikes have the new model name Vuca Evo - but they are very different in their orientation. The sportiest is the Vuca Evo AM, which is one of the few sporty E-MTBs with the motor-gear unit. 150 mm of travel, a main frame made of carbon and a sporty geometry - it should fulfill the wishes of many e-mountain bikers.

The Vuca Evo FSX also has full suspension, but is much more tame and at the same time more suitable for everyday use. With 120 mm spring travel and full equipment including mudguards and luggage rack, it fits very well into the modern SUV category. If you can do without the suspension at the rear, you can also take a look at the Vuca Evo X, which also has 120 mm of travel at the front and is therefore also suitable for excursions into easy terrain.

All Vuca Evo models come from the factory with a 720 Wh battery in the down tube; the longer-range 200 Wh battery is available for an additional charge of 960 euros. With the Vuca Evo Speed FSX and the Vuca Evo Speed X there are also two S-Pedelecs in the portfolio. Nice: You can look forward to a high permissible total weight of 150 kg and approval for trailers across the entire model series. In addition, a carbon belt is used on all equipment variants.

Bull's Vuca Evo AM

If you are looking for an E-MTB with the new Pinion MGU, you don't have a lot to choose from, at least for the time being - the Bulls Vuca AM is definitely a hot candidate. With its 150 mm of travel and a versatile geometry, it aims to be an all-rounder that works just as well on the trail as it does on a leisurely tour.

The main frame of the bike is made of carbon, the rear end is made of aluminum. The new 4-link swing arm rear triangle is exciting. A stiff, one-piece rear triangle is attached to the main frame via a multi-jointed damper link.

Even if the Bulls Vuca AM has to be used every now and then in everyday life: Thanks to rear lights integrated in the seat stays, a magnetic mount for a MonkeyLink front light, trailer approval and a maximum permissible total weight of 150 kg, the bike should be well prepared for this.

At the market launch, the bike will be available in two model variants. The top model Vuca AM 2 in particular catches the eye, which for its 8.499 euros comes with a very strong equipment including Fox 38 Factory at the front. In terms of weight, the model is 24,6 kg with the 720 Wh battery.

The frame here is made of aluminum and, like the suspension fork, comes with 120 mm of travel, which should be more than enough given the area of use. The equipment is functional, but should also be sufficient for not too rough excursions into the terrain. Thanks to a permissible total weight of 150 kg and trailer approval, nothing stands in the way of everyday use. The Bulls Vuca Evo FSX 1 is also available as an S-Pedelec.

Bulls E-Bikes 2024: Sonic Evo SX with Bosch Performance SX

In addition to the Pinion MGU, the new Bosch drive in particular made the headlines at this year's Eurobike: With the Performance Line SX, one of the heavyweights in the industry is now daring to tackle the subject of light-assist e-bikes for the first time.

[blog specific=“176129″]

With the new Bosch system, Bulls also has numerous models in the pipeline for the coming model year: They belong to the established Sonic series and also bring with them the now well-known features and design language. This also includes convenient battery removal on the side of the down tube, which accommodates the new CompactTube 400 with a capacity of 400 Wh. The underside of the top tube also offers space for the new PowerMore 250 Range Extender with an additional 250 Wh capacity.

[blog specific=“176390″]

The new model series is divided into the full-suspension Bulls Sonic Evo AM SX and the hardtail Sonic Evo SX. Both are optimized for low weight and therefore unsurprisingly come with a carbon frame. All equipment variants have a clearly sporty touch, whereby there will also be a fully equipped variant of the hardtail with the Dakar model.

Bull's Sonic Evo AM SX

The Bulls Sonic Evo AM SX was one of the most exciting E-MTBs with a Bosch SX motor to be admired at Eurobike. As a trail bike with 140mm travel at the front and 130mm at the rear, it should cover a large area for mountain bikers - without having to make too painful compromises in terms of weight, which are inevitably necessary for enduro bikes with 160mm travel or more. So it is also possible to set the weight of the top model at around 18 kg.

Bulls is launching the new Sonic Evo AM SX with three equipment variants and a women's version. The top-of-the-line AM SX-I model offers top-of-the-line equipment, but at just under €10.000, it'll also put a significant dent in your wallet. Therefore, the entry-level AM SX 1 model, available for €5, should also be a good buy.999 Euro will find many fans – especially since you already get a complete trail-ready equipment here.

Bull's Sonic Evo SX

In addition to the full-suspension AM models, Bulls also offers several hardtail models with the new SX drive. The approach of the Sonic Evo SX is appealing: With 120mm of travel and a fun geometry, trips on moderate trails are definitely possible.

Bulls E-Bikes 2024: Light E-Bikes with Bafang rear motor

As the third major innovation in the Bulls e-bikes 2024, numerous models with the Bafang R600 hub motor were announced. With its maximum torque of 30 Nm, this provides a pleasant, built-in tailwind and brings with it the advantages known for hub motors: Extremely low noise level and virtually maintenance-free operation. Added to this is its low weight.

In order for the motor to become a complete drive, components from Fit are used - as is the case with the motors from Brose or Pinion in the range. What is particularly exciting is the slim battery, which comes with 550 Wh in almost all models and is (unfortunately) firmly integrated in the down tube.

Four model series are equipped with the new Bafang R600 Fit Motor. Most of the models come with the slim Urban Evo - a light, sporty everyday companion with full equipment. The Grinder Evo models are even a bit sportier and will be available either as a genuine e-gravel bike or as a more comfortable espresso version with a flat bar and single-speed drive. In addition, the Streetliner Evo complements the already extensive Bulls touring portfolio with a real light e-trekking bike. Last but not least, the portfolio now also includes a lightweight children's E-MTB in three sizes with the Tokee Evo.

Bull's Urban Evo

The new Bulls Urban Evo wants to be a dynamic, light and stylish companion for the city and everyday life. The new model comes in three equipment variants from 3.399 euros. Incidentally, each of them is also available with a trapezoidal frame.

Bull's Grinder Evo

The new Bulls Grinder Evo promises gravel adventures with a built-in tailwind – a real gravel bike with a Shimano GRX group and carbon fork. The Espresso Grinder Evo offers the same basis, but is intended more as a brisk companion for the city with a flat bar, single speed and a belt drive.

Bull's Streetliner Evo

There are not many lightweight e-trekking bikes on the market yet. With the Streetliner Evo, Bulls is now also contributing such a model for 2024. Comfortably designed with an upright seating position, adjustable stem and suspension fork, it is at home in everyday life, when commuting, but also on tours to the beer garden.

Bull's Tokee Disc Evo

Children's e-bikes are becoming increasingly popular. However, their considerable weight is often problematic for the kids. This is where the new Bulls Tokee Disc Evo should help. For this, Bulls combines the light Bafang R600 hub motor with a particularly compact and above all light 275 Wh battery in the two versions with 20 inch and 24 inch wheels and the large 550 Wh battery in the youth version with 26 inch wheels.
