Eurobike 2023/Product News: Dhe e-performance manufacturer Mivice, with its innovative and precise torque sensor, can already be found on many pedelecs. With light rear hub motors such as the M070 and M080 models, it was also possible to take important steps in the performance segment and thus try to offer the right solutions for light e-bikes that are becoming increasingly popular. With its M080 hub motor, the manufacturer even won the Design & Innovation Award at the beginning of the year. We paid a little visit to Mivice at the Eurobike 2023 and asked what the manufacturer had in store for new e-bikes.
Mivice M200 & M100 engine
The first highlight is the new Mivice M200 rear hub motor, which at 45 Nm offers the highest torque in this Mivice drive segment. Similar to the well-known systems of the hub motor specialist, this drive is also extremely quiet with less than 55dB and should convince in practice with fine sensors and a pleasantly powerful and natural driving experience. The Mivice M200 motor is aimed specifically at bikes in the travel segment and sporty models that can handle a decent power boost.
With 40Nm but with only 1,75 kilograms we were also shown the M100 engine. This should be used for light bikes such as urban or gravel bikes where you want to pay special attention to the power-to-weight ratio of a compact overall system.
The great special feature of the two motors is that they do not have a directly visible motor cable. A new plug-in connection provides the right solution here. Thanks to a connector that is also newly designed, which is mounted on the dropout, this makes it easier for the rider to use it, for example when removing a wheel in the event of a flat tire, and also enables the bike to look much cleaner and sportier. In addition, the use of the latest groupsets with 12-speed cassettes is now also possible.
However, a light drive makes little sense if you cannot also rely on the right battery. Of course, Mivice had the right answer to this question from us with the slim B360s battery. The battery with its 360Wh will be available in a compact and a "slim" version, which can be configured depending on the area of application and frame design. So you don't have to make any compromises when it comes to energy reserves and optical requirements. For bigger challenges and bikes, Mivice also offers the 540Wh strong B540 battery.
In the course of the expanded portfolio and areas of application in the area of motors, the torque sensor from Mivice has also been slightly revised. In addition to the still available sensor with a square axle, the S200i sensor with ISIS Drive Standard offers the option of using higher-quality components when choosing a crank. Technically, however, the sensors are still identical and should continue to impress with sensitive control.
