Cycling World Championship: Gold for Switzerland in the mixed relay - bronze for Germany

August 8, 2023 by Michael Behringer

Reusser Cycling World Championship Mixed Switzerland

Cycling: Switzerland won the gold medal in the mixed relay and thus defended the world title. In Glasgow, the Swiss were able to prevail over France and Germany at the World Cup.

Switzerland wins despite the Reusser fall

Marlen Reusser, Elise Chabbey, Nicole Koller, Stefan Küng, Mauro Schmid and Stefan Bissegger have the Switzerland won World Championship gold in the mixed relay. The Confederates have thus lived up to their role as favourites. And that despite the fact that Marlen Reusser fell in a right-hand bend and Switzerland lost a lot of time as a result. Nevertheless, they were 7 and 51 seconds faster than the French and the Germans at the finish. At least Franziska Koch, Ricarda Bauernfeind, Lisa Klein, Jannik Steimle, Miguel Heidemann and Max Walscheid can be happy about the bronze medal.
