The new Abus WingBack: A helmet for sports and urban use?!

7 November 2023 by Florian Nowak

Product news: After the success of the Abus Road models GameChanger, AirBreaker, StormChaser and PowerDome, the new Abus WingBack is the fifth model to come from our own Italian production. The helmet is intended to combine the comfortable fit and sporty innovations of the previous models with a timeless and sporty urban performance design. This is likely to reduce the abuse WingBack is particularly aimed at dynamic young road and urban bikers.

With the new Abus WingBack, the helmet family of the German company for locks and helmets is getting another addition. The WingBack now represents the stylish entry into the manufacturer's performance helmet series. Based on the design of the already successful PowerDome, the new WingBack also comes with a recognizable front and a slim, modern shape. Large ventilation openings, combined with deep air channels inside the helmet, ensure perfect ventilation. Wearing comfort is also a top priority with the WingBack, as the sewn straps offer an immediate fit and no longer need to be adjusted, and the comfortable padding avoids pressure points, while the Zoom Ace system ensures the best support and fit.

The Abus WingBack gets its name from its striking design, as the side silhouette is reminiscent of wings that visually lead to the rear part of the helmet. This gives the helmet additional sportiness, making the helmet particularly aimed at riders who are looking for a versatile and uncomplicated helmet for dynamic urban road cycling. Thanks to its attractive price of 90 euros, the WingBack is an attractive entry-level model for enthusiastic racing cyclists and sporty urban cyclists who can get by without a lot of bells and whistles.

To ensure that the new Abus WingBack is still equipped for all possible technologies, the helmet has been made QUIN-ready so that it can be retrofitted with the crash detection system and offers additional safety.
