Top 10 Drivers 2023: 9th place – Phil Bauhaus is Germany’s best sprinter

1 November 2023 by Michael Behringer

Bauhaus Tour DOWN UNDER

Cycling: Phil Bauhaus has steadily improved in recent years. The 29-year-old can now be called the best German sprinter. In our ranking he made it to 9th place.

Bauhaus has a strong first Tour de France

It's hard to believe, but Phil Bauhaus actually rode his first Tour de France at the age of 29. The sprinter from Team Bahrain – Victorious presented himself extremely well. He made it onto the podium three times and, especially on the third stage, narrowly missed out on his first Tour stage win behind Jasper Philipsen. He managed to sprint into the top 3 a total of 14 times this season. In terms of consistency, Phil Bauhaus is one of the strongest sprinters in the world.

First and only win of the season in Australia

Despite his many good results, Phil Bauhaus is only ranked 10th in our top 9 ranking. Because he was actually only able to celebrate a victory once - and that was right at the beginning of the season. At the Tour Down Under he won the first stage with start and finish in Tanunda. If Phil Bauhaus remains as consistent in 2024 as he did this year, a few victories should follow in the coming season.
