Test of the Lunivo Lynx F100 Daylight – all information and data about the bicycle light at a glance
The Lunivo Lynx F100 Daylight lives up to its name because it has a daytime driving mode. The main light lights up at the lowest level and two LED strips are switched on. This increases visibility and ensures greater safety on cloudy days, for example. For the dark there are four light levels between 100 and 20 lux. This makes Lunivo's bicycle lights one of the stronger candidates on our list of the best StVZO compliant bike light with battery. In terms of price, it is in the midfield at €74,95. By the way, Lunivo also offers a set with a rear light with a brake light function for €89,95. The light with protection class IP 65 should be able to withstand heavy rain, so users do not necessarily have to remove it. A large display in a robust plastic housing provides information about the brightness, the battery level and the remaining lighting time. Nice additional feature: The lamp can also be used as a power bank.

assembly and fastening
Installing the handlebar mount for the first time is a bit fiddly: Although the process works without tools thanks to the wheel screw, the lock nut is loose in the mount and tends to fall out. In addition, three rubber spacers must be used for the thin area of the handlebars. If you do everything right here, the delicate-looking bracket sits quite firmly on the handlebars. Thanks to the rubber spacers, the mount covers handlebar diameters from 18 – 32 mm.
The light itself is now simply plugged in. However, our test model cannot be pushed on far enough to get the small safety lever to engage. The bike light sits quite firmly in the holder - nothing came loose on our test rides. Even on coarser surfaces such as forest roads, we didn't notice any real wobbling. The snapping itself is blocked by a small plastic arch. If you cut this off, the light can be plugged in further and the snap-in works. Even with gloves on, the process is easy to handle. After consulting with Lunivo, this was a problem with the first batch and has now been resolved, so there is no downgrade for it in the test and buyers should no longer encounter the problem.

Service
Operating the Lunivo Lynx F100 Daylight is uncomplicated: the minus or plus button is pressed for a good second. This means that the light always switches on at the light level it was in before it was switched off. Now you can change the brightness levels using the buttons mentioned. Practical: When you reach the darkest level, you can switch to the brightest level by pressing the minus button again - the same thing also works with the plus button in the brightest level. The daytime running lights are switched on by briefly pressing a button twice. Lunivo has implemented a well thought-out operating option here.
Unfortunately, the buttons themselves are not illuminated - so you can't really see them in the dark, but the glowing display is a good guide. Even with gloves on, you can usually find the buttons quite easily, as they protrude slightly from the housing. However, the buttons then require precise, strong pressure. The display shows the light level currently used and the remaining light duration of the current level.
battery & runtime
The Lunivo Lynx F100 Daylight is powered by a 3200 mAh battery. Its charging time is around 2 – 3 hours depending on the power dispenser. Lunivo uses a modern USB-C port as a charging socket in an exemplary manner. At full power with 100 lux, the lighting time is around 3 hours. In the weaker levels the following values result: 75 lux with 6 hours, 50 lux with 11 hours and 20 lux with 30 hours of lighting time. These values are impressive - especially if you don't always use the brightest setting, you rarely have to use the charging cable. On cold winter days, however, as with all battery-operated bicycle lights, you have to expect less running time. The clear display also provides information about the battery level.
The light field of the Lunivo Lynx F100 Daylight
When it comes to the light field, the Lunivo Lynx F100 Daylight provides clearly defined, bright and homogeneous illumination of the lane. However, the side strips, curves and the area directly in front of the front wheel hardly receive any light. So if you find a lot of tight curves in the dark on your regular rides or are traveling across country, you will find more suitable bike lights from the competition. In urban, not completely dark areas, however, the light works very well and illuminates the road brightly and clearly with its 100 lux. Even at higher speeds you still feel comfortable here. On illuminated streets you can safely switch back one or two light levels and save the battery a little with 75 or 50 lux. The last light level of 20 lux is more suitable for slow rides or uphills. Overall, the four light levels are very well chosen and, in our opinion, the ideal level.
The area directly in front of the front wheel receives slightly less light, but does not remain completely dark due to indirect, partly fractured radiation.
