Handy mini tool for purists: Giant Tool Shed 12 in the test

12 January 2024 by Andrew Waldera

Giant Tool Sheed 12 Test Minitools

Test mini tools: With the Tool Sheds, Giant has a whole series of compact mini tools available. The numbering in the name indicates the number of functions available. The range extends from the Giant Tool Shed 6 to the Giant Tool Shed 13. But more does not necessarily always mean more benefit: the Giant Tool Shed 12, which we tested, is the only multi-tool in the series with a CO² pump head.

Giant Tool Sheed 12 Minitool: Structure and processing

What is striking is the very flat design, which makes it very easy to take the tool with you. In combination with its low weight, the Giant Tool Shed 12 can be easily carried even in tight-fitting jersey pockets. Also striking is the high-quality workmanship with the CNC milled side parts. The tools made of chrome vanadium steel are also nickel-plated, which prevents premature rusting. The compact multifunctional tool has the most important functions for quick repairs on a tour. The valve core remover and the CO² pump head are certainly worth mentioning as special features.

handling

With the Tool Shed 12 Minitool, Giant has found an ideal compromise between size, weight and handling. The individual tools are long enough to easily make the most important settings. The stable structure and flat design ensure good handling with efficient use of force. All tools can be folded out neatly, but are still tight enough so that you don't have to stretch all fours during transport. The selection of tools is well thought out and is rounded off by the CO² pump head. Only if the chain breaks is it all over the place - unlike the Giant Tool Shed 12, the Giant Tool Shed 13 mini tool does not have a chain riveter, which, however, lacks the CO² pump head.
