Cycling: Tadej Pogacar won the second stage of the 103rd Volta Ciclista a Catalunya. The Slovenian won the Vallter 2000 and thus took the lead in the overall ranking.

Pogacar defies the bad weather
The professionals had no luck with the weather on the second stage of the Tour of Catalonia. The drivers had to go about their work in the pouring rain for almost the entire day. But the spectators also suffered, because due to these conditions, hardly any live images could be consumed. After all, it gradually became drier on the final climb. As expected, the weather conditions did not deter us Tadej pogacar (UAE). The Slovenian won confidently Mikel Landa (Soudal – Quick-Step) from Spain and Alexander Vlasov (Bora – hansgrohe) from Russia. This makes Pogacar the new overall leader of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya.
Janssens against the rest of the world
Six riders formed the escape group on the 186,5 kilometer long stage from Mataró to Vallter 2000. As we entered the final climb, only one of them was left. But also Jimmy Janssens (Alpecin – Deceuninck) should not be able to keep the top climbers at bay until the finish line. The Belgian was also challenged on the 11,4 kilometer long and 7,5 percent steep climb on average.
