Smartphone holder with system: SP Connect Universal Bike Bundle 2

March 5, 2024 by Michael Wahl

SP Connect Universal Bike Bundle 2: Connect your active life! With this slogan, the Austrians advertise their smartphone assembly system, which can be used for many areas of application. We took a closer look at the system.

If you choose a smartphone holder from SP Connect, you are also choosing a system that offers you many options for attaching your smartphone. In addition to the bike mount we tested, we also offer mounting options for motorcycles, cars or fitness applications. The uniform SPC+ fastening mechanism represents the actual innovation. Once the smartphone is equipped with the SPC+ connector, there are dozens of options for attaching the smartphone. SP Connect promises safe and quick installation. Our test with the Universal Bike Bundle 2 shows whether this is the case.

SP Connect Universal Bike Bundle 2

Simple and quick installation

The bike bundle consists of a universal mount and clamp with SPC+ connection system. In addition to the bracket and clamp, the packaging includes 2 different rubber washers and a correction tool, as well as a hex key. The enclosed operating instructions are kept simple and easy to understand using graphics. This gives you a quick overview and allows you to mount the holder in no time.

The universal mount allows you to choose between handlebars, stem and, depending on the bike, the top tube for mounting. Once the decision has been made, all you have to do is select the appropriate rubber pad and close the lock by hand. The landscape or portrait position of the smartphone can then be adjusted using a hexagonal key. The smartphone and clamp are easily connected using a pull-out adjustment wheel.

SPC+ in use

The SPC+ system connects the smartphone to the bike in no time. Installation is easy with a 90° rotation. Compared to the previous SPC system, the SPC+ also uses magnets to strengthen the hold. Nothing wobbles here, the device sits securely on the bike. Even when driving on bumpy gravel paths or down stairs, the smartphone stays securely in place. The discreet holder does not restrict reading and operation. However, care must be taken to ensure that the keys are not accidentally pinched when attaching the clamp.
