Cycling: Dorian Godon won the first stage of the Tour de Romandie. The Frenchman won the slightly undulating section in a mass sprint ahead of his teammate Andrea Vendrame. Juri Hollmann from Germany takes over the mountain jersey.

A one-two finish in the mass sprint at the Tour de Romandie. After 165,7 kilometers from Château d'Oex to Fribourg, Frenchman Dorian Godon (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale) prevailed over his Italian teammate Andrea Vendrame (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale). The stage winner thus also takes the lead in the overall standings. The six breakaway riders, including German Juri Hollmann (Alpecin – Deceuninck) and Austrian Patrick Gamper (Bora – hansgrohe), were caught shortly before the finish. Hollmann can still be pleased, however, as he will start tomorrow's stage wearing the polka dot jersey (King of the Mountains).
