High-quality mini tool with 20 functions in the test: Silca Italian Army Knife Venti

26 April 2024 by Andrew Waldera

Silca Italian Army Knife Venti

Test Minitools: Silca products enjoy an extremely good reputation worldwide. This is not surprising given the history of the company. Silca was the first company to bring pumps with pressure gauges onto the market. The Italian manufacturer also made a good showing when it came to high-pressure frame pumps. The view of the current program is more extensive than ever. In addition to pumps, care products and various accessories, there are tools for the workshop and mobile use, including the Silca Italian Army Knife Venti. Can the mini tool live up to the company's good reputation in our test?

Silca Italian Army Knife Venti Minitool: Construction and processing

Venti is Italian and means twenty. This should quickly make it clear how many functions the Silca Italian Army Knife Venti contains. But it's not the number that makes you sit up and take notice, but rather the really well-selected range. The multitool actually contains everything you need for quick repairs on a tour. In addition to a complete set of Allen keys, the wide range of Torx keys is also impressive. The tool also has a chain tool for all common chains and several wrenches. Completed with a tool for pushing back the brake pistons, a valve core remover and two spoke wrenches, almost nothing is left to be desired. The forged and coated tools, like the forged frame, are excellently crafted and, as an overall package, promise a very long service life.

handling

A special feature of the Silca Italian Army Knife Venti mini tool is the magnetic sliding lock design. The steel plate, which contains several functions, is simply pushed into the frame and held in place by magnets. A great and practical solution, but given the somewhat weak magnets, it's not quite as convincing as expected. Apart from this, the multitool knows how to impress in all respects. Thanks to the innovative design with the retractable plate, the chain riveter has an extremely long lever travel and therefore stands out clearly from the competitors in our test. The mini tool fits very well in the hand and the shape of the torsion-resistant frame allows it to be gripped firmly and without slipping. The precisely crafted tools are also long enough to reach even harder-to-reach places on the bike.

The Silca Italian Army Knife Venti is without a doubt one of the best multitools on the market. The quality is excellent and the selection of tools is absolutely inspiring. Only the somewhat weak magnets for holding the slide-in plate spoil the otherwise flawless appearance.
