The new KTM Scarp Evo III: The next stage of evolution?!

7 May 2024 by Florian Nowak

Product news: KTM's racing genes have always defined quality and performance. The company proudly presents the third evolutionary stage of its top model in the cross-country and downcountry sectors: the KTM Scarp Evo III. This frame marks the beginning of a new era for the Scarp lineup, combining the best of KTM bicycle engineers' years of experience with direct feedback from renowned racetracks worldwidet.

Development of the Scarp Evo III frame was completed through rigorous testing at events such as the Cape Epic in South Africa and the Mountain Bike World Cup in Brazil, where it was highly praised by athletes. The new models are the result of careful tuning to the requirements of the best racing drivers, with geometry and handling being precisely transferred to series production.

The heart of the new Scarp Evo III is its frame, which is available in both carbon and aluminum and offers a travel variation of 100 to 140mm. From entry-level to high-end models, the Scarp Evo III promises unsurpassed driving fun for every target group.

The technical details of the Scarp Evo III are particularly noteworthy, reflecting perfection down to the smallest detail. The SUBMARINE MAIN PIVOT concept, for example, ensures a hermetic seal of the main bearings, which significantly extends the life of the rolling bearings in tough MTB use. In addition, the frame is equipped with a clever tool holder that offers thirteen different functions and hardly affects the weight of the bike.

The top tube of the Evo III houses the hidden cable routing for the shock remote, so that any shock can be mounted regardless of manufacturer or positioning. Improved stiffness in the bottom bracket area and drive-side chainstay ensures every watt is converted into propulsion, while specially shaped silicone tubes and a chainstay protector keep moisture and dirt away.

Further improvements such as the unobtrusive chain guide and optimized geometry make the Scarp Evo III a true masterpiece of mountain bike design. With a slacker head angle, a steeper seat angle and an increased reach, the new frame offers an even wider range of uses for demanding riders.

KTM Scarp Evo III

Overall, the Austrian manufacturer wants to set new standards in the cross-country and downcountry sectors with the new KTM Scarp Evo III and underlines KTM's commitment to the highest quality, maximum performance and continuous innovation.

But he doesn't just feel comfortable on the racing bike, he's also always drawn to off-road terrain. In addition to sport, he works on his second mainstay and has completed his business administration studies at the LMU Munich.
